Current problem
We are trying to improve a solution to protect the blossoms of f.e. the apple trees from late frosts.
If the farmers see that the tempratures will drop below 0°C, they start a watering system to cover the blossoms in a protective ice layer which will protect the blossoms from the low temperatur.
The problem comes with the following scenarios, that sometimes the water pumps are started even if it is not needed due to bad temperature tracking or social factors like “oh the neighbours turned their water pumps on so I should do the same.”
This leads to unnessecary high water and energy consumption.
Our solution
Together with our friends from -yoloswaggerReverb- ( We are sorry for their name ) we are working on a sensor mesh and an application to have a more precise overview over the temprature changes and the need to start the water pumps
